Literary Noise is the humble abode for my writings on literature. They are primarily book reviews that may or may not appear on Goodreads. I might occasionally blog about academia and the doctoral dissertation I’m writing on Shakespeare. I run a book club in Helsinki and will gladly share thoughts on it too. The overall point is to have a place where I can turn off all the self-criticism and just express thoughts on books.
The site began as the Helsinki Book Review in April 2018 and turned into a more personal blog under the current name in March 2019.
If you are interested in sending me review copies, please keep in mind my partiality for literary fiction (especially experimental), translated fiction, and small presses. I do research on literary ecology, feminism, spatiality, and early modernity so I’m easily intrigued by such themes. I also read an occasional book on philosophy and literary theory. Finally, note that I live in Finland and I’m miserable with ebooks.
